Participate in Alzheimer's Research

There isn't a cure for Alzheimer's yet––but you can be the change that creates one. Observational studies and clinical trials are vital in discovering how best to mitigate and treat Alzheimer's disease. Whether you're affected by Alzheimer's or not, you can increase the chances of finding a solution. All trials and studies below are based in the Greater Los Angeles area.

DIAGNOSED WITH ALZHEIMER'S

GOAL and RAPID Studies

Participate in in-person procedures, including physical examination and cognitive testing, to identify factors that shape the route of cognitive decline and investigate treatment.

Length of Study: No end date; testing occurs annually, as long as participants remain willing

Eligibility Includes: Adults with symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias; healthy friends/family

Location: Cedars-Sinai Medical Center

VHB937 Antibody Testing

Test the results of the VHB937, an antibody directed at the brain's immune cell receptors, and allow researchers to evaluate its effect on individuals with Alzheimer's.​

Length of Study: > 72 weeks

Eligibility Includes: People ages 50-85 with Early Alzheimer's Disease; see website for more specific constraints

Masupirdine for  Agitation Treatment

Help evaluate the potential of masupirdine, an orally administered drug focused on treating agitation and behavioral symptoms.​

Length of Study: 12 weeks

Eligibility Includes: People aged 50-90 with Alzheimer's Disease; score between 8 to 24 on Mini-Mental State Examinationl; no other symptoms of agitation unrelated to Alzheimer's

AT RISK OF ALZHEIMER'S

Omega-3 Supplements and Alzheimer's Disease Risk

Help find the effectiveness of omega-3 supplements on preventative care for those with increased risk of Alzheimer's Disease.

Length of Study: To Be Disclosed

Eligibility Includes: People aged 55-80 with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, little exercise, or are overweight

HEALTHY AND WITHOUT SYMPTOMS

Stress and Aging Study

Provide evidence to examine impact of brief instances of stress on biomarkers that behave differently for those with Alzheimer's Disease; involves blood draws.

Length of Study: To Be Disclosed

Eligibility Includes: People aged 18-30 or 50-65 weighing at least 110 pounds; no cognitive impairment or conditions preventing completion of stressful tasks; non-pregnant and non-lactating

CARING FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH ALZHEIMER'S

GOAL and RAPID Studies

Answer questions surrounding the physical, mental, and behavioral condition of an individual with Alzheimer's, alongside their test results, to identify factors of cognitive decline.

Eligibility Includes: Adults with symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias; healthy friends/family

Location: Cedars-Sinai Medical Center

Evaluation of Sleep and Well-Being

Test the Care2Sleep sleep intervention program's effects on inflammation within caregivers.​​​

Length of Study: Until August 2027

Eligibility Includes: Adult caregivers who live with an Alzheimer's patient; Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score >5 and Montreal Cognitive Assessment greater or equal to 23; no paid professionals
